This test was developed in 1951 by American writer and engineer, L. Ron Hubbard, author of the #1 New York Times best selling self-help book, Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health.
The test is evaluated using the Hubbard Chart of Human Evaluation, which is based upon Mr. Hubbard's research on the human mind, emotion and life force.
The chart's vertical scale is called the Tone Scale. This is a graduated scale of emotional tones, or emotional states. Horizontally, the chart lists personality attributes such as communication level, courage level, sexual behavior, ability to experience present time pleasure and one's value as a friend. Therefore, you can see what character
traits individuals have at the different emotional tone
levels.
This may be interesting in itself, but
more importantly this information enables you to accurately
predict human behavior — your's and others. Additionally, with knowledge of the
level an individual is at, his or her life can be considerably
improved through correct application of appropriate
techniques.
The Tone Scale
The position of an individual on this Tone Scale varies
through the day and throughout the years but is fairly stable
for given periods. One's position on the chart will rise on
receipt of good news, sink with bad news. This is the usual
give and take with life.
Mr. Hubbard found that everyone has a chronic
position on the Tone Scale.
To determine your chronic emotional
tone level, the test examines 18 different areas of a person's
life. The test has been used by millions of people
internationally for over 53 years to help them understand
themselves, and with Dianetics, live a stress-free and productive life.
